I am running for reelection to continue to prioritize services and investments that benefit all town residents. My 20+ years of professional experience in finance and supply chain management mean I understand complex investments and opportunities. Making smart decisions on how to leverage our resources - financial, human, and natural - will help ensure Reading remains a vibrant community where all are welcome and can thrive. I would be honored to receive your vote to continue my service.

Karen Gately Herrick (Incumbent)
I have been an actively engaged Precinct 8 Town Meeting member and Wood End Mom for 20 years. I am particularly proud of my advocacy for the Franklin St sidewalks, the traffic safety improvements at Main & Franklin and the work my husband, Stephen and I did to make the Wood End accessible playground a reality. I have served on the RHC, the Finance Committee, as Precinct Captain (2yrs) & as the Chair of the Select Board. It would be my pleasure to continue this important advocacy.

I’m running for re-election focusing on the welfare and education of our children, success of local businesses, and ability to appropriately direct/manage Town funds to best serve our residents.

As a former Finance Committee member and current School Committee member, I have a deep understanding of town government and finances. I’m running for re-election to Town Meeting to ensure that our resources are dedicated to the things that make Reading special - excellent schools, reliable town services and a fantastic quality of life for all residents.

Served on Town Meeting for 5+ years with great appreciation for considerations that go into Town & School operations/spending. Running for re-election to stay informed about and be an active participant in Reading’s growth and how that impacts all residents, students to seniors. Have 3 children who are/have gone through RPS. Continue to be an active member in several school & community groups (SEPAC, School Council, Community Conversations, etc). Hope to continue representing my neighbors.

Contact me to join email discussion about Town Meeting, which I created to encourage communication. I lived in Reading for 30+ years, raised two children in our schools, Town Meeting member, & election worker. My priorities include: safety, children, seniors, anyone disadvantaged or marginalized. Also: responsible use of tax money, seeking grants, a vibrant business district, unhealthy polarization of town politics. Have you read this far? Contact me with your concerns: BMackenzie@alum.mit.edu

As a current Finance Committee member and former Town Meeting member, I am interested in election to Town Meeting to preserve Reading as a place to be proud to live. I believe thoughtful discourse combined with fiscal oversight can help support key community goals related to education, diversity Elder Services, Recreation and Public Safety. Thank you for your consideration.

I have been a Reading resident for over 30 years and taught at Reading Memorial High School from 1984 - 2019. After retiring, I joined the Reading Conservation Commission and am currently serving as the chair. I love our town and enjoy volunteering in many capacities. I worked to support the overrides that funded renovating our high school and our library. I served two terms on Town Meeting and would like to be elected again.
