Precinct 6

Hi! I've lived in Reading since late 2015 after my family moved here from Maryland where I spent the majority of my life. I just completed a three-year term as TMM in Precinct 7, and I have so enjoyed and appreciated the opportunity to serve Reading and my precinct. I am also the secretary of the Bylaws Committee, and the co-leader of a Barrows Daisy Troop. I have loved this opportunity to give back to Reading and hope to continue to do so as a TMM in Precinct 6.

I joined Town Meeting in 2019, yet my service began a long time ago, including 6 years as Reading's State Representative from 1985-91. I've been the CEO of the Massachusetts Municipal Association since 1992, serving as the chief advocate for local governments across the state. An RMHS grad, I have a BA from BC, and an MBA from MIT. In Town Meeting, I will continue to support strong schools, sustainable, equitable and inclusive growth, and sound fiscal management. Thank you for considering me.

I've been a town Meeting for about 20 Years. Additionally I have served 4 years on the Select Board and 7 on the Fin Com, two as chair. I have served during good times and lean years. I have provided decisive leadership on the Override, library construction project and the graffiti incidents in town. As the town grapples with the next round of capital projects (Killem, senior center, infrastructure) I will draw on my 20 years experience to provide balanced and thoughtful guidance for the town

Hi! I've been a Town Meeting Member for over 10 years. As a parent and former member of our School Committee, I care deeply about supporting our schools. As a Finance Committee Member, I am invested in a sound budget process and management. My priorities are to maintain the highest level of public services we can sustain; protect the town’s long-term financial position; and help promote civil, thoughtful, fact-based dialogue. I would appreciate your vote. Email me anytime: jmborawski@gmail.com.

I'm a Barrows dad who is lucky to be raising two kids here and wants to give back to our amazing community. I joined Town Meeting in 2018 and joined Conservation in 2021. In both, I've loved seeing how much neighbors accomplish when we put in the work to find solutions that benefit everyone.
At work, I manage a team of brilliant engineers, where the smart move is to listen and then help them get what they already know is right. I'd like to listen to you, too: joseph.carnahan@gmail.com

Hi! I grew up in Reading and am happy to raise my family here. I have children at Barrows and RMHS. I’ve been actively involved with the PTOs at Barrows, Parker and RMHS. I am lucky to have my parents and sister live in town as well. At work, I am an Emergency Room nurse. I look forward to the chance to serve Precinct 6 as a town meeting member.

My family moved here 20 years ago, mostly for the schools. Reading is a wonderful community that has changed over the last 20 years and continues to change. Some would say for the positive, and others not so much. I believe in giving back and participating in my town. I have been a town meeting member for 9 years and I'd like to continue to serve the town to maintain its superb quality of life for all its residents, of all generations, in the present and future.

I have been on TM since 2015, currently Chair of Precinct 6, and have found it an important way to be involved in the town, to learn and to have impact on our direction. I have three kids in three schools and want to be sure that they and all residents are supported while we continue to develop as a town in the present day.

This is the thirtieth year my family has lived in Reading. I have been a town meeting member for the last ten years. As such I have been a strong supporter of our schools, public safety officials, and the library. I am currently the Chair of an ad hoc committee established by the Select Board to ascertain the need for a new Senior Center or Community/Senior Center Reading is at a crossroads, and I hope to offer a pragmatic voice on how it should proceed.

I have been a TM member since 2015 and would like to continue to make sure the interests of all my neighbors are represented. My family has been in Reading since 1998 raising 3 children who have gone through RPS (last one is a Junior). I have volunteered at Barrows, Parker and RMHS, currently serving as PTO Co-President. I also volunteer at the Food Pantry and the board at Mission of Deeds. Reading has been a wonderful community to raise a family and I hope to help that continue.

As a 20+ year town meeting member and 40+ year Reading resident, I have a deep knowledge of the town and how it is governed. I will continue to advocate for our schools, for fiscal stability, for environmental stewardship, and for Reading to be a welcoming town for all people. I am a retired Speech-Language Pathologist with expertise in geriatrics and am an active volunteer for several town organizations. I respectfully ask for your vote on April 5.
