Precinct 5

My charge as Moderator is to conduct the legislative business of the community fairly and legally, assuring that all sides of any given issue are heard in an efficient manner. It is important that everyone who has an opinion be allowed to speak, all the while making sure that the body as a whole can reach its decisions in a timely manner. I have served as a moderator for the last 26 years, and I hope to continue serving in the role to help guide the body in whatever direction it chooses.

Since March 2020, Reading has faced enormous health, social and financial challenges. Both via Zoom and in person, it has been my privilege to provide the collaborative, thoughtful leadership to keep us safe, encourage economic development, support our schools, reduce our climate impact and set a course for the Reading of tomorrow. In this unprecedented time in our history, Reading needs experienced leadership to accomplish outstanding community goals such as a new Killam School, achieving carbon neutrality, solutions for our Seniors, and maintaining fiscal health.

I’m seeking re-election to a 3-year seat on the School Committee. Our schools have come a long way since March 2020, and they are stronger. There have been many positive changes in programming, staffing, and curriculum. I'm proud of the work that the SC has accomplished together, and I'm hopeful about the conversations and ideas being explored for the future. There is more work to be done to continue to move RPS forward, and to ensure our schools are safe and supportive learning environments where all students can thrive. Since 2018, I have provided steadfast leadership to the Board and am knowledgeable of the library’s budget, programming, and strategic plan. I believe that our library is and should continue to be a welcoming place for all, providing a collection and programming that is robust and inclusive. I am committed to dedicating my effort and energy to ensure that OUR library continues to be the best in Massachusetts. I will uphold the RPL’s Core Values of Education, Equity, Accountability and Access and our Mission to be a center and resource for learning and civic engagement.

Four-year Reading resident with my wife and young daughters. Licensed educator, taught and coached children of all ages. Fifteen plus year business career, MBA and am a financial advisor. Four years of international experience between Taiwan and Australia. Running to have a positive impact on the community, help continue the library’s tradition of educating our children, while focusing on being fiscally responsible and as efficient as possible with our Reading tax dollars. As a member of the Reading Library Board of Trustees, I'll promote access to knowledge, education, and cultural enrichment for all, and work to ensure the library has the resources to maintain it. I'll support literacy, critical thinking, and digital literacy initiatives to help people navigate our data-centric world. I strive to create an inclusive and diverse space and foster community-building partnerships, while bringing a moderate perspective and commitment to the library's vibrant future.

I have had the pleasure of serving P5 for the past 4 years. I serve as a Select Board member and am a liason to many boards and committees. TM is a very important body and I ask for your vote to continue to serve. We are in a very good financial position and I want the opportunity to keep that standing. Though a newer resident, I've committed time to understanding goings-on in the Town as it was a factor in moving here. This diligence prepared me to run for Town Meeting, where I have been an active participant over the last year, since the entire slate was elected anew. My commitment to understanding issues facing the Town, from budget and development to needs of our entire population, young and old, prepare me for re-election to represent Precinct 5.

My wife Angela Binda and I have lived in Reading for 28 years, raising two boys. I have been a Town Meeting Member, Soccer Coach, Town Election Worker, Cub Scout Den Leader and Boy Scout Committee member, and am currently Town Democratic delegate.
I support smart sustainable growth, improving our infrastructure, providing safety and security to our youngest, oldest, and most vulnerable neighbors, so the investments we have made in our homes and our community will continue to grow.

I moved to Reading in 2013, with my wife, and two dogs. We have a first grader at Joshua Eaton. We love our town and all the services it offers. We spend a lot of time in our town forest and parks. I have been a Town Meeting member for the past 3 years. I am a excited about becoming a green community, a strong advocate for equity and inclusion, interested in improving senior services, and believe in supporting our local businesses in order to create a bustling downtown.

I am running for re-election as I’m most interested in the future of children: schools, library, climate, health and safety. Specifically, we need a new Killam School that meets the anticipated needs of all its pupils and teachers for the future, we need to protect and provide access to our town lands and I want to see our downtown area to have safe walkways for everyone year round. I want downtown to be beautiful and welcoming to new residents, to small businesses, prioritizing pedestrians.

I’ve been blessed to have lived in this community for 21 years. Ive served 2 terms on TM; last 2 as Precinct chair. I also Chair the Finance Committee. I have two children in the school system. I volunteer to give back and to also insure the community needs continue to be prioritized.

I am a 30 year resident of Reading, currently running for my third term as a Town Meeting Member. I have been involved in many organizations, including as a past board member on PTO and Young Women’s League. I believe that an effective Town Meeting Member needs to be able to put taxpayers first when deciding issues that come before us. We must always remember that we are representing everyone in our precinct. I pledge to do that, and would be honored if you choose to vote for me. Thank you.

I’ve been a resident of Reading for the last 16 years. My son is a 2020 graduate of RMHS. I own Fat Larry’s a sandwich shop located on Haven St. I would love to be a voice for P5 as well as our business community.

I have been a Town Meeting member since 1980. I have served on the RMLD Board of Commissioners for 35 years and are running for reelection to that position. I bring experience and knowledge. I am in a unique position. I am a former Chair of both the Finance Committee and the Bylaw Committee. I have serve on a Charter update committee. So I have seen Town Meeting matters from many sides. Finally over the past several years I have provided the opening prayer that leads off Town Meeting.

My wife and I have lived in Reading for 40+ years, raised 4 Children here and are helping raise 2 Grand Children here. We love this town and I'd like to ensure the town continues to provide the best possible living environment for all it's residents and provides the necessary resources to help families raise and educate their children.

I have lived in Reading since 2013 and have loved raising my two kids here. I'm hoping to join Town Meeting to help Reading continue to thrive as a community. I'm an elementary school teacher, a good listener, and a natural problem solver. I care about ensuring that Reading Schools have the resources they need, finding ways to use public space for the greatest good, and making sure that all people in Reading have their voices heard.
